Celebrating 28 Years of Compassion: Join Us for the Khayelitsha Animal Clinic Dog Show!

The Mdzananda Animal Clinic is excited to announce its 28th anniversary of providing essential veterinary care and shelter to the pets of the Khayelitsha community. As the only animal clinic and shelter in the area, Mdzananda plays a vital role in ensuring that many animals receive the health care they need, as private veterinary services can be prohibitively expensive for community pet owners.

“We are honoured and proud to have served the community for so long, and we want to thank all our donors and supporters for standing with us throughout the years to make this possible,” shares Marcelle du Plessis, Fundraising and Communications Executive.

To mark this significant milestone, the clinic is hosting a community dog show on Saturday, October 26th. The event will take place at the Mdzananda Animal Clinic, located at 21297 Govan Mbeki Road, Mandela Park, Khayelitsha, from 10 AM to 1 PM.

The dog show is designed to celebrate the bond between pet guardians and their furry friends, providing an opportunity to showcase beloved dogs. Categories will include:

Biggest Dog
Cutest Trick
Best Dressed Dog and Owner
Best Lookalike
Cutest Dog
Most Unusual and Unique Dog
Shiniest Coat
Best Behaved Dog

“We would love to invite all pet guardians, from within and outside of the community, to come join in the fun and celebrate with us by showing off your wonderful dog,” says du Plessis.

Fun for Everyone

The day promises to be filled with excitement, featuring prizes for category winners and a special educational session for children. Young attendees can enjoy colouring books that highlight the importance of humane treatment of pets, making it an enriching experience for families.

Important Note for Participants: To enter the dog show, dogs must be sterilised, vaccinated, and on a lead.
