Local celebrity steps up to help animals in need

Local celebrity, Clare Wiese-Wentzel, the presenter of Kyknet’s Mooimaak, has stepped up to help Mdzananda. “My rescue dog, Kimbey passed away and in her honour, I wanted to assist animals in need. Then I heard about Mdzananda’s struggle. I was horrified to hear that they were robbed three times and of the enormous financial loss and added expenses they are having due to Covid-19.” Apart from the robberies, Mdzananda lost R142 000 between April and November from monthly donors cancelling their debit orders. Clare immediately signed up as a Paw Member but felt that she needed to do more. She knew that Kimbey would want that too. She put together a heartfelt video of Kimbey’s life to encourage pet owners to sign up in honour of their pets or passed over pets. “I know that Kimbey will be proud to know she’s helping animals who aren’t as privileged as she was.” Click to watch her video
